Sector 9 cops a feel – Cold War Deck

Sector 9 isn’t the first company to pay their respects/infringe on our trademark. That’s the evils of capitalism. The proletariat can’t afford lawyers to fire off the cease and desist. I’ve heard that doesn’t stop some guys anyway. Comrades, we’re well aware of the immoral temptations we are subjecting you to as a result of linking to those imperialists, but we know you’re good party members… because we listen to your phone calls. It’s not a bad board graphic actually. The salt on the wound is that it’s actually a pretty good graphic. You should buy a real Cold War deck instead.

Sighted in the wild, on TV

Chic-A-Go-Go is a weird little dance show sort of aimed at kids. Think American Bandstand for the Yo Gabba Gabba crowd. It’s played on public access cable in Chicago for years and years. when I lived in Chicago I used to watch it whenever I stumbled across it. It’s amusing and awkward, everything public access should be. If you’re in Chicago you can watch it on cable channel 19 on Tuesdays at 8:30 pm and wednesdays at 3:30 pm. House of Neil told me he thought he saw a Cold War shirt in the audience on episode with none other than Steve Ignorant of Crass fame. That’s good company. This would be a huge plate of shrimp coincidence except I know that guy, he’s an old friend of mine named Dan Merlo and actually the guy that drew Belsen. Video after the jump.

Green Bottling Christmas Party invites

We recently screen printed Christmas party invitations on skateboard blanks for Green Bottling company in Portland. The party is over so we can post the pics without fear of gatecrashers. Mike and his crew run a mobile bottling facility for hire. Microbreweries can sell beer on draft easily enough, but a bottling operation is more than most small operations want to get into. Even some of the larger local breweries might need help bottling a growler or other non-standard size bottle. That’s when they call Green Bottling. The owner, Mike Weksler is a surfer who thought it would be cool to print his Christmas party invitations on skateboards and give them to clients. We think he was right.
