Cold War is a small company run by two guys who love skateboarding. Cold War is not interested in which pro is doing which trick at what famous location. Cold War exists to make the kind of skateboards that we think need to made, regardless of whether or not you buy them. We also prefer a skateboard that's been screenprinted as opposed to a heat transfer. The tactile quality is nice.

Cold War can't compete with the world of commercial skateboarding. We have an uneasy truce with the popularity of skateboarding. On the one hand, it means an abundance of spectacular (and not so spectacular) skate parks are available. Society as a whole has become more tolerant of what used to be considered a semi-deviant activity.

The other hand is a sucker punch filled with watered down culture, fake companies, and carpet baggers. No matter how great a skatepark is, your first homemade half pipe, tresspassed pool, or secret ditch will always be more memorable. Hell, even your first turn at the end of your driveway.

There was a time when you could look at virtually any kid with a skateboard or a funny haircut, or some messed up clothes and different attitude and instantly recognize a common bond. Although skateboarding may have lost its' barrier to entry, we're not here to put it back up. Instead, just think of us as a bomb shelter stocked for survival. You do your thing, we'll do ours
